PV Value®, was highlighted at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Green Mortgage Appraisal Roundtable at the White House in March. The event focused on how the mortgage appraisal process and education can be improved with respect to green energy and energy efficiency on homes. The meeting was attended by mortgage appraisal stakeholders, including The Appraisal Institute, a global association of real estate appraisers, and Sandra Adomatis, owner of Adomatis Appraisal Service in Punta Gorda, Fla.,

Adomatis featured PV Value® in her presentation, and the tool was further lauded as a successful way for appraisers to evaluate properties with solar photovoltaics.

Sandia researcher Geoff Klise attended the event.

PV Value® was developed by Klise at Sandia and Jamie Johnson at Energy Sense Finance. The tool is trademarked by Energy Sense. The tool has been the subject of webinars, presentations, and publications, including an article in The Appraisal Journal and a paper about PV systems ownership and home valuation.
